Route 66 on the Air special event: Bill reported that the Route 66 on the Air special event has been approved.  The call is W6O.  Everyone in the club is allowed to participate. Bill handed out the authorization letter to all in attendants. Bill said the club has some QSL cards left from last year but need more for this year’s event. One reason is the Rolla club will be participating under this approved call with us. This is because the California club that puts on the event has a max number of around a dozen calls to give. The California bunch suggested we team up.  The Rolla Club showed a big interest in this event at our joint meeting. Bill is working with Rolla to help them come online with us in a joint effort. Mike asked if Rolla could go half’s with us on the printing of the QSL cards. Bill said he would talk to them about it.  Mike also suggested having a get together with Rolla to do the QSL replies.  Mike made the motion to Set up on Saturday the 13th of September starting time of 9:00 AM  at the Lebanon Route 66 Museum and that no more then $200 be spent on the printing of the QSL cards with Rolla contributing $100 of that.  Bill seconded it and it passed with no objections.  Alva will be asked to work up a new QSL card design.  Berry had concerns about who could operate from their homes and Bill added that the only ones that would be allowed to operate from their homes would be the Lebanon or Rolla Club members, all other clubs can operate only from the Museum on the 13th.  Mike asked if our web link from the California group web page could be updated.  Bill said he would get Mike an email address to correspond with them concerning this matter. Bill said he will bring more authorization letters to the August Meeting for those that need one.

Field Day: was reported as a success with 188 contacts made on a bad propagation weekend. It was held at Jon’s office (Laclede County EOC) June 28-29.  Fun was had by all. Gary added that the most productive part was finding problems with electrical line noise feeding the building. Bill has reported it all to the power company for repairs.

Moving the 146.700 repeater:  The climb is still pending due to weather.  The antenna will be put at the 450 foot level.  Gary brought up the idea of asking if the climber could see clear to put a sacrificial antenna on the coax at the 700 foot level that would occupy that coax so others would consider it in use. Mike (WB9M) said that the only problem is that Mike the climber said if he did not have to climb to the 800 foot level he would rather not do so.  Mike also added that the radio station would have to power down to quarter power so that the climber would not be exposed to high levels of RF exposure. Mike also said not to totally rule it out though.

Technician class license session:  Planning for the August 16th and 17th Technician class license session continues. So far we have indications that this year’s class may be more than double last year’s.  Currently, more than a dozen people have expressed interest.  Berry offered VE help and Bill said that would be great.

Plans for eventually linking the club’s two repeaters: Nothing was added.

New Business:   none

Note: Mike asked to add to the record that he paid the $10 for the NonProfit fee to the Secretary of State Robin Carnahan.  The Invoice#7015588 is filed with these Minutes.
