Old Business:
- Second antenna on Eldridge tower: Bill, K0DEW, reported that the new receive antenna was installed during an all day work session. That antenna appears to be working quite well. Problems were found and fixed on the transmit side with some improvement in signal levels expected. Overall, the upgrade has been a significant improvement.
- 2013 Convention update: Bill, K0DEW, has chosen Saturday, December 10th, for the first planning session. All are invited to attend. The group will be meeting at 8:00 AM for breakfast with the meeting to start at 9:00 AM at the library.
- Kirkwood Hamfest report: Bill, K0DEW, reported that this event was relatively small though some good items were found to buy.
- New repeater for Conway: Gary, N0GW, reported that the club is still looking for a maintenance manual for the Motorola MSF500 repeater. Jeff, K0JLS, will be attempting to purchase one. It was also determined that the resale value of the currently installed repeater is so low that it should be kept as a spare.
- Feb 11, 2012, Life Point Church 5K Run. – More detail will be provided as the event date approaches.
- General License study and testing session: A firm date of January 28th and 29th was decided. Notice and study information will be sent out.
New Business
- The next meeting will be held at the Western Sizlin’ restaurant in front of the library. This will be the club’s Christmas meeting. This is to remind you that our annual Christmas dinner meeting is next Monday, December 5th. It will be at the same time as usual, that is 6:00 PM, but at Western Sizlin', in front of the Lebanon/Laclede County Library where we usually have our meetings. For those new to the Lebanon Amateur Radio Club, our December meeting is one of our fun activities. Family and friends are invited. There is a voluntary "Gift" exchange. I put "Gift" in quotes because this is really a tongue in cheek gift exchange. There are rules about the gifts: they must be something at least vaguely ham radio related or adaptable there to. There must be some likelihood that the item or items might be operational or at least repairable. There is a 50 pound weight limit. What this usually means is some of us just swap stuff around between our junk boxes. Bringing a gift is not necessary though you may be stuck taking something home even if you don't. It's all just for fun.
- Dale, K0DLP, reported that the lightning damage to is radio gear is now repaired and that the insurance company he was signed up with was cooperative and paid without hassle. He wanted to pass along the name of that company in case club members would be interested: Ham Radio Insurance Associates, Inc.
